The Cyrus PSX R2 is a high end external power supply designed to work with the Cyrus range of separate HiFi audio systems. Specifically the separate Cyrus components have been specifically designed to benefit from the connection with PSX R2. PSX R2 supplies a stable and regular filtered current to the connected circuits in order to maximize their potential. In terms of performance, with the addition of the English brand power supply to the rest of the system, it is possible to immediately notice the increase in the level of detail. This external power supply allows you to appreciate subtle notes and nuances that reveal the spirit and inclination of the artist.

How does CYRUS PSX R2 work?

The external power supply is designed to improve the performance of Cyrus electronics. It is the fastest and safest way to level up the system. Power quality is an essential factor in any HiFi component. Having the PSX connected to your CD I or 8.2 DAC – by way of example only – reduces the load on the integrated power supply as well as separating the power supply sections of the different circuits, protecting the more delicate ones from interference and parasitic intermodulations .

Compatible Cyrus models are STREAM Xa, CD I, 8.2 DAC, PRE2 DAC, PHONO SIGNATURE, DAC XP SIGNATURE, X POWER.

The module is redesigned on the design of a classic Cyrus that has made the happiness of thousands of audiophiles for over 30 years. With this second version the current filtering capacity is increased and derives directly from the more sophisticated products produced in the years by the English house. Today, PSX R2 provides an immediate sonic enhancement to every compatible product within the Cyrus range. The benefit of an external, regulated and filtered power supply brings great benefits to HiFi devices, which have to process delicate musical signals.

Smart connection

When a Cyrus device is connected to the PSX R2 external power supply both devices automatically adjust the various input and output parameters. Plug and Play. Just connect the two devices without giving them power. The next time you turn on the systems, they will recognize each other… and the listener will know the difference. A 300VA toroidal transformer with a huge current capacity is at the heart of the PSX R2 and guarantees outstanding performance to the connected devices. Each Cyrus compatible device can be connected to different PSX R2, resulting in an extreme progressive improvement of the HiFi system.

Tip: Filtered AC current

In the HiFi listening chains, the various devices must be consistent with each other to get the best results. Amplifiers and delicate electronics should always be powered with possibly controlled and filtered electric current. Any noise induced by sudden changes in the home network or in the macro living area is reflected in voltage oscillations - even important and harmful to the device - which in the best case are detrimental to listening pleasure and the absolute performance of our devices . We strongly recommend the use of shielded power cords and good quality power strips with decent to good quality amplifiers and audio electronics. These improve the life and performance of the connected devices and also of the rest of the appliances in the house since they do not filter disturbances and discharges but, symmetrically, do not emit them. Toroidal electrical insulators for HiFi are also recommended to obtain the maximum in terms of listening and safety.
