Dynaudio Emit 10 is a compact two-way standmount loudspeaker using technology derived from the premium Confidence, Contour i and Evoke series. It is the ideal model for small rooms or as satellite channels in a home cinema system.

Description

Bookshelf speakers that belie their size

Designed and engineered at Dynaudio Labs in Denmark down to the smallest detail, Dynaudio Emit 10 HiFi loudspeakers were developed and fine-tuned by the same minds that created the Danish brand's award-winning high-end families (Evoke, Contour, Confidence).

“Under the hood” is a 14cm MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) mid-bass unit. MSP is a material developed by Dynaudio and which has been used by the Danish brand for decades. It provides exactly the right combination of light weight, stiffness and damping for super-fine control without loss of power, essential when a driver reproduces both low-mid and midrange frequencies.

The little Emit 10s are the entry step into the Dynaudio world and are the most compact bookshelves in the line. Perfect for sounding small stereo systems in bedrooms and living rooms, ideal as surround speakers in multi-channel audio projects.

Emit 10 is not a compromise or economic choice, in its small size are enclosed components of the highest level, created specifically for this speaker and assembled with maniacal care. A small speaker destined to sound great for years to come.

Legendary engineering!

The Dynaudio Emit 10's mid/bass driver is derived from the Esotec+ in Dynaudio's successful Evoke series and features an all-new surround baffle and dual magnet system for extended launch (meaning the cone has greater mobility and excursion in the two senses). This improves frequency response and dynamics at lower frequencies, while maintaining crystal clear mid-range performance. All this translates into greater volume and acoustic pressure, without distortion.

Note that the central dust cap is not simply glued on but is part of the playing surface of the cone. The small dotted line around the rim (the balancing rib structure) connects directly to the 38mm voice coil just behind it. This incredibly strong connection to the "motor" means that more of the coil's energy is transferred to the diaphragm. Power and control.

High quality Cerotar tweeter

The Cerotar tweeter installed in the Dynaudio Emit 10 is exactly the same as found in the Dynaudio Evoke family. Cerotar tweeter which is itself based on the award-winning Esotar tweeter (installed in the Special Forty) and the incredible Esotar3, used in the Dynaudio Heritage and Dynaudio Confidence.

It is a 28mm fabric soft dome unit with the special DSR (Dynaudio Secret Recipe) coating. Why a fabric soft dome tweeter? Because it conveys all the desirable detail from the recordings without subjecting the hearing system to unwanted stress during longer listening sessions (commonly called "listening fatigue").

Behind the dome is the much talked about Hexis device. It's an ingenious dimpled inner dome that sits directly behind the emitting surface and shapes the airflow to optimize frequency response and eliminate unwanted resonances. This means that the diaphragm, the membrane, can move even more precisely allowing an even more faithful reproduction of details.

The whole thing is driven by a ceramic ferrite + strontium carbonate magnet system for increased sensitivity, improved clarity, and a natural, dynamic response.

Behind the cone

The coil is made of copper clad aluminum wire. The aluminum is lightweight, which gives the driver top-notch speed and mobility, while the copper plating increases conductivity for more power. It's a winning combination for detail and incisiveness.

Behind the woofer a high quality double ferrite magnet system provides all the power and control you could wish for. It's a specific design meant to keep the driver compact but it also serves another purpose: the use of two magnets means that the Danish engineers were able to very finely control the magnetic flux, directing it towards the voice coil, where it is more necessary.

The crossover

The Dynaudio Emit 10 crossover was designed by the same engineers who worked on the Heritage Special and Dynaudio Core range of professional studio reference systems. The tweeter crossover uses a first-order design and second-order topology for the mid/bass driver. This customization of the crossovers is one of the famous "details that make the difference". Using a single crossover for everything compromises performance and Dynaudio have preferred to invest some time in optimizing the various components. For our part we can only appreciate!

Three splendid finishes

At the rear of the speaker is the bass-reflex port with a double flare design to reduce air turbulence and minimize unwanted "puff", especially with deep notes. The internal damping material has also been optimized (at Dynaudio, details are fundamental). Everything is measured “to the gram and fraction of a millimeter”, for a perfect combination of damping and openness.

The cabinet of the Emit 10 is made from 18mm MDF. The diffuser is available in three beautiful satin finishes: Black, White and Walnut. Like all the speakers in the new line, the Emit 10 is also equipped with magnetic grilles that allow for a quick aesthetic transformation of the speaker without having to worry about screws and pins. The grid obviously allows for ideal protection from some curious friend or some too lively child.

Dynaudio Emit 10 represents the ideal way to take the first real step into the world of high fidelity. State-of-the-art technology, simple Danish design and unrivaled performance at this level. What more to ask?

Recommended amplifier, cables, accessories

If you are looking for a suitable amplifier to drive the Emit 10s, in a stereo system we recommend pairing it with Cyrus One (in one of three versions, depending on the type of listening and the preferred source: from analogue to streaming, to TV) or with Hegel H95 or even Lyngdorf TDAI-1120. If you are interested in a Home Cinema system instead choose a receiver with no less than 80 Watts per channel, or even better 100 Watts.

Excellent audio cables, and commensurate for use with Dynaudio's Emits, are the Chord C-line or, if budget permits, the Clearway. We are talking about both signal cables with which to connect the various electronics and power cables between amplifier and speakers.

The recommended stands for Emit 10 are those proposed by Dynaudio itself, built specifically for compact speakers: Stand 10.

In both stereo and multi-channel systems, the use of Kube 8b, Kube 10b or Kube 12b subwoofers is recommended (depending on room size). In case of space problems or need for very high level performance, you can opt for the Eisa 2021 Kc62 premium compact subwoofer.

To improve sound definition and spatiality, as well as to reduce rumbles and vibrations, the definitive accessory for Emit 20 is notoriously constituted by the IsoAcoustics Aperta bookshelf speaker insulators. They can be used both with stands and on furniture.
