Solid 1.25% silver conductors for enhanced digital performance

Solid conductors eliminate interaction distortion between strands and reduce jitter. The silver-plated conductors are excellent for ultra-high frequency applications, such as HDMI video and audio. These signals, being of high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Since the surface is pure silver, the yield is very similar to that of a solid silver cable, but much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly inexpensive way to produce the highest quality HDMI cables.

RIGID FOAM INSULATION

Rigid Foam Insulation (HCF) ensures critical signal pair geometry. Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. The insulation materials of cables and printed circuit boards all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as a distortion. The rigid cell foam insulation is similar to the PE foam used in our cheaper Bridges & Falls cables, and is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Since nitrogen (like air) does not absorb energy and therefore does not release energy from or into the conductor, distortion is reduced. In addition, the stiffness of the material allows the conductors of the cable to maintain a stable relationship along the entire length of the cable, producing a stable impedance character and further reducing distortion.

HIGH SPEED DATA CAPACITY

HDMI standards and capabilities have improved significantly since DVI first evolved to HDMI. All generations are backward compatible. However, not all previous HDMI cables can transmit the 48Gbps of data needed to optimize current HDMI 2.0 equipment. Audioquest HDMI cables are ideal for ultra-high-speed data transmission. Their band allows 8K and 10K transmission.

DIRECTIONALITY

All drawn metal wires or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance change so that the noise is dumped from where it will cause the distortion. The correct direction is determined by listening to each batch of metal conductors used in each AudioQuest audio cable. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior audio quality.
