To celebrate 90 years of its founding, Wharfedale has brought to life two commemorative speakers resurrecting models from bygone eras, of which the Dovedale is the larger of the two and the company proudly declares that both are made by highly trained speaker experts. qualified and highly experienced at the Wharfedale HQ in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, in the heart of British Hi-Fi.

Presented at the last Monaca Hi-End, the Dovedale is the classic three-way stand midi speaker with a large front buffle with decentralized and mirrored midrange and tweeter.

The Wharfedale Dovedale is inspired by a timeless design, presenting a stunning cabinet with a traditional English line, simple, beautiful and yet highly developed by a completely modern technological design, updated using a mix of traditional and advanced technology, to give life to optimal performance remaining faithful to the classical heritage.

In fact, the structure uses layered damping material to guarantee high inertia and reduce internal resonances, plus there is a specially designed support for an ideal stand-speaker coupling to eliminate any type of vibration, while the drivers present on the large front they are beautifully covered with a fabric grille with a strong reference to those of the past.

The Dovedale takes advantage of its large front baffle, incorporating a large bass driver with a 250mm woven Kevlar cone, mounted on a rigid die-cast chassis, a combination that delivers rich, controlled bass output with excellent dynamic performance .

Above this we find a 135 mm mid frequency driver, also with a woven Kevlar cone and housed in its own internal case and finally, a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter with high flux ferrite magnet , designed for smooth, detailed high-frequency extension without ever being biting.

All these drivers are excellently complemented by a crossover highly studied by Wharfedale's director of acoustic design, Peter Comeau, subjected to thousands of hours of listening tests to perfect a coherent and natural musical output, so as to recreate a perfect integration between the unit to make the speaker behave like a single music system.
