Cambridge Evo CD is the CD player designed exclusively for the integrated amplifiers of the Evo line: it cannot be connected to other systems.

Shares the same level of sonic performance and the same attractive design of the Evo 75 and Evo 150 all-in-one amplifiers that incorporate progress and tradition.

Compact Disc remains the most popular physical music format among music enthusiasts, which is why Cambridge Audio has created this gem to complement the Evo range.

Evo CD is not a traditional CD player with integrated DAC and analog outputs; nor is it a classic CD transport with S/PDIF coaxial or Toslink optical digital outputs.

It is an EVO-specific CD transport that sends the digital signal to the Evo 75 or Evo 150 partners via a special proprietary Evo Link cable for playback and Album cover display.

This special Evo CD transport reads the most common CompactDiscs, including CD-R and CD-RW formats ensuring gapless playback – with no gaps between songs.

Evo CD is made with the same Premium materials and the obsessive finishes of the all-in-ones of the same line, in fact a product that synthesizes technology with style and elegance. With a sleek black aluminum top panel, and available matte black side panels made from sustainable material – Richlite – or brushed real wood.

With CD sales soaring, there's no better time to introduce the perfect partner for Cambridge's EVO all-in-one amplifiers.

A Closer Look The Evo CD was developed to exacting standards to deliver great performance: it features a metal tray mechanism and utilizes the new Servo S5 circuit – created by upgrading the acclaimed Servo S3 integrated into the CXC transport – which offers stable disk rotation speed to optimize reading, faster detection of disk information and better error correction for extremely faithful rendering. The new CD transport delivers an immersive musical experience in any space, deep, rich sound with unrivaled clarity, thanks to gapless playback – i.e. without gaps between tracks – and CD-formats are also supported. DA, CD-R and CD-RW. The anodized aluminum chassis and CD tray are acoustically damped to prevent unwanted resonances from interfering with playback.

The sleek, minimalist design is absolutely essential: only the CD eject button stands out on the front panel but no screen. Evo CD has been custom made to work with the proprietary streaming platform StreamMagic, an interesting feature which, among other things, allows you to see the album cover of the playing CD on the color screen of the Evo 75 or 150 Both Evo 150 and Evo 75 boast cutting-edge technology to offer efficient Class D amplification, and extraordinary versatility in terms of connectivity, including the proprietary StreamMagic platform for digital streaming through Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz and Roon Ready.

Featuring an attractive design, crafted with high-quality materials and engineered to the same exacting standards as the award-winning Evo all-in-one integrated systems, the Evo CD player is set to become a new standard in CompactDisc playback.

S5 Servo Reference Circuit Cambridge Audio pays great attention to internal circuitry to ensure an optimal signal path, so they have updated their S3 circuit with this new S5 Servo Reference Action. For every second of music on a CD, there are 44,100 samples.

When the CD system was invented, the creators realized that there would probably never be a disc reader device that could collect every single sample as the disc rotated in a tray.

So they developed error correction, which in simple terms tries to figure out what the sound should have been between the missing bits. Now, the less error correction is involved in the process, the closer you will get to the original digital recording.

Cambridge Audio's chosen transport mechanism can read more data from CDs than most transports.

This is because the Servo S5 mechanism is extremely stable, which means that the laser does not have to constantly refocus offering an optimal and constant reading of the information.

This transport also keeps the disk spinning at a very precise speed, which reduces read errors as it will have better data retrieval. Servo S5 is the new reference circuit for Cambridge Audio, guaranteeing excellent technical performance to offer the best possible musical performance.
