MoFi StudioPhono is the phono preamplifier to be placed between your MoFi (or other brand) turntable and the amplifier. The function of the phono preamp is to capture the very delicate electrical signal from the cartridge and amplify it to the correct level before sending it to the amplifier – and finally finally to your speakers. MoFi StudioPhono has great transparency and respects the original signal in its entire bandwidth. Only those who have been making vinyls all their life can create the perfect phono pre-amplifier that respects the work of the artist but also of the mixer and publisher. MoFi: respect!

Description

MoFi StudioPhono: The RIAA phono preamp from the vinyl press

MoFi's StudioPhono is the result of when a team that loves something moves, ..and moves big. At MoFi they love vinyl records and have pressed several million over the years. When they decided to create the best possible in-house "reading solutions", they thought it best to also create a range of accompanying items. In other words, after creating the new iconic models StudioDeck and UltraDeck they also created two models of turntable preamplifiers, two external RIAA phono pre-stages that could match turntables in quality and beauty.

The StudioPhono attack model was created, like the rest of the range, in collaboration with the founder of Spiral Groove, the well-known designer Mr. Allen Perkins. The new StudioPhono from MoFi is characterized by an absolutely delicate and faithful handling of the musical signal coming from the cartridge of the turntables.

If listened to with the right tools, every vinyl collection can truly offer uncompromising reproduction, like the one that the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has been carrying on for 50 years.

Transparency and bandwidth

StudioPhono replicates the high bandwidth transparency demanded by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab engineers. Tim De Paravicini, the designer responsible for the Mobile Fidelity Ultra Analog Gain2™ clipping system, worked with the internal circuitry to ensure your analog system at home faithfully reproduces the music hidden in the grooves of your LPs.

Adjustable gain and load

With selectable gain and loading, you'll be able to tailor StudioPhono to fit nearly any moving magnet or moving coil cartridge on the market. An easily accessible bank of toggle switches can be found on the underside of the unit to make adjustments quickly without the need for tools.

Mono and subsonic filter modes

Two selectable toggle buttons on the top of the unit can activate Mono or Subsonic filter mode. If you're a fan of mono, vintage or reissue recordings like the Beatles in Mono box set or the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Bob Dylan Series, the Mono mode will be a revelation. It will improve image stability and generate a richer tone.
