REGA FONO MC MK4

The prephono is an essential element to better manage and load your MC cartridge to ensure that all its potential can be expressed by working in the electric range for which it was designed.

Rega is known among audiophiles for making products with a high quality / price ratio and is pleased to introduce its new phono stage for MC cartridges, the Fono MC Mk4.

This prephono has a very elegant aesthetic appearance and excellent construction quality, in fact it benefits from the same aluminum case as the Rega Neo MK2 and Fono MM Mk5 amplifiers, which give it an elegant appearance with the same lines as its illustrious older brothers to have aesthetic continuity with them.

The Fono MC Mk4 has been designed to maximize the potential of any low output moving coil cartridge, be easy to use and set up but above all to reproduce music in the best possible way. Although specifically designed to drive the latest range of Rega moving coils, with full gain adjustment and loading via conveniently located rear panel dip switches, you can use it not only for Rega cartridges but also with a wide range of MC cartridges low output from other manufacturers. Its new circuitry is a result of the design work done on the Aria phono amplifier, and utilizes Linear Systems' low noise LSK389 FET in a fully discrete input stage where low noise and linearity are of vital importance to get the best out of an MC cartridge.

A MUSE op amp is then used in the RIAA equalization amplifier, while polypropylene capacitors are used in the signal path and RIAA equalization circuits.
