GENELEC 8040B

Genelec 8040B compact bi-amplified monitors are higher-end systems. Ideal when a large frequency response is required even in small spaces. The most common uses are as nearfield in project / home studio, workstations, control room, broadcast, TV and mobile. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the power consumption of the system to less than 0.5 watts by putting the monitor in standby automatically when no signal is detected on the inputs. The reflex duct has been designed to provide clear and defined lows, in the absence of distortions, compressions or disturbances. The combination of the waveguide control, Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), the rounded corners and the subtle curvature of both the front and MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) cabinets, results in a surprisingly flat frequency response both on and off off-axis. Another great advantage is an extremely precise and detailed imaging and a minimum of listening fatigue. A sophisticated system of crossover filters treats the signal that is sent to the amplifiers: one per speaker. The 8040B is equipped with magnetic shielding, overload protection circuit and an environmental correction system. The holes on the back allow a correct and safe wall mounting. Each 8040B is equipped with Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner / Decoupler), a support capable of eliminating any sound color by decoupling the monitor from the surface on which it is placed. Iso-Pod also allows the monitor to be angled to point it perfectly in line with the listener.
