Power cable with solid PSC/PSC+ copper conductors. NDS Noise-Dissipation System. 3 x 3.31mm² conductors.

The Audioquest Monsoon cable replaces the Audioquest NRG-4 cable.

The AudioQuest Monsoon is the first in the line to feature solid PSC and PSC+ conductors combined with the renowned Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) that absorbs high-frequency energy. The sonic result is more "timbre," quieter sound, and the use of NDS allows for more background detail.

    FEATURES

GROUND NOISE-DISSIPATION TECHNOLOGY: AC ground wires provide protection from power wiring faults, but they also act as antennas. Therefore, they are susceptible to induced radio frequency (RF) noise. This RF noise bypasses component power supplies and is typically coupled directly to the system's most sensitive audio/video circuitry. AudioQuest's patented ground-noise dissipation dramatically reduces this distortion, producing unprecedented levels of noise dissipation across the widest possible radio frequency bandwidth. Our unique circuit topology utilizes a common-mode phase-cancelling array, coupled with proprietary dielectric materials that provide additional linear differential filtering.

HIGH-PURITY TRUE-CONCENTRIC PSC+ AND LGC CONDUCTORS: With only Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) on the exterior, Monsoon's conductors are essentially all PSC+, even though the core conductor is Long-Grain Copper (LGC). Both the superior metal and conductor geometry greatly reduce ear-fatiguing transient intermode distortion (TIM).

UNCOMPRESSED HIGH CURRENT TRANSFER: While many AC power cables feature low DC resistance to accommodate high current demands, a cable's characteristic impedance is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that compress audio-induced transients, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero (no) characteristic impedance to deliver uncompressed high-current transients on demand.

DIRECTIONALITY: All drawn metal wires or conductors have a non-symmetrical grain structure, and therefore are directional. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance change so that noise is drained away from where it would cause distortion. The correct direction is determined by listening to each batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest audio cable. Where applicable, arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior audio quality. For most AQ cable models, the arrows indicate not only the direction that optimizes the directionality of the metal as part of Noise-Dissipation, but also indicates the non-symmetrical attachment of shield and GND to optimize the performance of the entire system.
