The Audioquest NRG FireBird High-Current Power Cable (20 Amp) is the first in the series to utilize perfect-surface silver (PSS) conductors along with perfect-surface copper+ (PSC+) conductors. The use of silver significantly improves performance, especially in reducing distortion, meaning the system it is used in will receive top-notch power supply and correspondingly improved performance. The FireBird cable is therefore the ideal power cable for all high-end power-hungry equipment, not only such as large amplifiers, but also for power conditioners that distribute cleaner energy. Like all Storm Series cables, this one is uniquely constructed: each of the ground, live, and neutral conductors is individually constructed as separate wires, twisted together, and terminated with a specially designed plug on both the source and receiver ends. This unique design is highly effective at reducing RF noise and electromagnetic interference, resulting in minimal distortion for finer detail and lower noise. The use of solid conductors means there is no contact between the strands, resulting in zero distortion. With a current rating of 20 amps RMS at 125 VAC 50/60 Hz (16 amps RMS at 220-240 VA 50/60 Hz), this cable can handle current surges many times its continuous RMS (average) rating, making it ideal for a wide range of equipment. Thanks to AQ's most sophisticated noise-dissipating system ever, the FireBird effectively reduces induced radio frequency (RF) noise that smothers detail and limits dynamics and imaging. The unique circuit topology utilizes a common-mode phase-cancelling array, along with proprietary dielectric materials that provide additional linear differential filtering. Thanks to the Dielectric Bias System (DBS), this creates a constant dielectric field that ensures extended bandwidth and more uniformly filtered noise dissipation, eliminating distortion and ensuring the RF noise dissipation system operates as linearly as possible.
