WiiM ULTRA is an audio preamplifier with streaming functions and a very high-performance internal DAC. It differs from the Pro and Pro Plus first of all for the aluminum chassis (similar to that of Amp) that contains it and which gives it a great impression of solidity, and for a 3.5" OLED touch display on which all the information on the music being played, on the selectable inputs, and on some other service information are displayed. But many other innovations have been introduced, the top DAC of SABRE ESS9038 before everything, then Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity (with retransmission capability to any BT device, such as headphones) and WiFI 6E, HDMI ARC inputs with Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Atmos support, Phono MM input and USB for memory devices. But the input range doesn't end there, as there is an RCA line input and an optical one, while for the outputs, in addition to the RCA, a pre-out for the sub with bass management, and an optical/coaxial, in addition to the trigger-out on a 3.5mm mini-jack. On the front panel there is a headphone output, which is connected to a dedicated high-quality TPA6120A2 amplifier. But it doesn't end there, as only on ULTRA is an automatic room calibration system included that is added to the equalizer already available on the app. Decoding capabilities reach up to 32-bit/384kHz, and using the WiiM platform, ULTRA is able to connect to the main streaming services, such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast Audio (CastLite), Alexa built-in, DLNA, Roon, and Squeezelite. Finally, the power supply, inside the product, is linear, in order to maximize performance.â¨
