The Audioquest Tornado High-Current Power Cable offers a significant improvement over the Thunder High-Current by introducing Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, immersion-silver-plated red copper plugs, and Audioquest's patented Carbon DBS package. All of these improvements significantly increase the cable's conductivity, ensuring cleaner power for your audio or home theater system. The Tornado features 50% Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) and 50% copper (PSC+) conductors, patented Ground Noise-Dissipation technology, ZERO (No) characteristic impedance, directionally controlled conductors, and a 72VDC dielectric bias system. Terminations are made of pure immersion-silver-plated red copper, and the inclusion of the noise-dissipating system with a Carbon DBS package ensures it truly functions as a Low-Z noise-dissipating system, just like the extraordinary Niagara AQ power products. This results in an extremely low noise floor, creating a true black background that enhances every minute detail, widens the soundstage, and increases dynamic peaks. Audioquest's patented Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) instead reduces nonlinear distortions caused by the temporary accumulation of energy in a cable's insulation. In the Tornado, DBS is applied more strategically, as dielectric noise reduction takes a backseat to DBS, extending the bandwidth and efficiency of the all-important RF noise dissipation. With a current rating of 20 amps RMS at 125 VAC 50/60 Hz (16 amps RMS at 220-240 VA 50/60 Hz), the Tornado/High-Current can handle transient current spikes many times its continuous RMS (average) rating, making it ideal for a wide range of electronics, even the most demanding.
