The amplifier is based on a Class A/B circuit design featuring selected bipolar output transistors and an oversized linear power supply with a custom MOON toroidal transformer. It delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms and up to 85 watts per channel into 4 ohms, operating in pure Class A for the initial watts to ensure tonal fluidity, naturalness and precision even at low listening levels.

The integrated DAC section supports high-resolution audio files up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and DSD256 through USB input, providing highly transparent, detailed and musical digital conversion. Digital connectivity includes USB Audio, two coaxial and two optical inputs for direct connection of streamers, televisions, CD players and computers.

The MOON 240i also incorporates a dedicated MM phono stage for direct turntable connection, along with analogue RCA line inputs, a front-mounted 6.3 mm headphone output and a pre-out connection for active subwoofers or external power amplifiers.
