Monitor Audio Silver AMS 8G – Dolby Atmos Height Speakers

The Monitor Audio Silver AMS 8G are Dolby Atmos speakers specifically designed for height channels, adding greater verticality, depth and immersion to movie soundtracks. Part of the new-generation Silver 8G range, they combine a compact and discreet design with acoustic technologies developed to deliver highly precise reproduction of surround effects.

The 2-way configuration features a 5.25" C-CAM RST III driver for the mid-bass range and a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with optimized waveguide. The sealed cabinet and reinforced construction help achieve a fast, controlled and coherent response, particularly well suited to the reproduction of three-dimensional Dolby Atmos effects.

The design has been developed to integrate perfectly with Silver 8G loudspeakers and is particularly suitable for placement on top of the Silver 50 8G or Silver 300 8G, using ceiling reflection to create the characteristic vertical sound field of Dolby Atmos configurations.

Dolby Atmos: A New Dimension of Sound

The key strength of the Silver AMS 8G is its ability to add a precise vertical component to home cinema reproduction. In a Dolby Atmos configuration, height speakers reproduce sound information coming from above, helping to make effects such as rain, helicopters, aircraft, moving objects and three-dimensional environments more realistic.

The dedicated acoustic design allows the Silver AMS 8G to be used as Dolby Atmos reflection speakers: positioned on top of compatible main speakers, they direct sound towards the ceiling, using its reflection to create the perception of a sound source coming from above.

5.25" C-CAM RST III Driver

The 5.25" mid-bass driver uses C-CAM RST III technology, developed by Monitor Audio to increase cone rigidity and more effectively control unwanted deformation. This solution provides precise and dynamic reproduction while maintaining excellent intelligibility during the complex reproduction of cinematic effects.

C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter with Waveguide

The 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter completes the system with detailed and precise high-frequency reproduction. The optimized waveguide helps control dispersion and promotes better acoustic integration, an especially important characteristic for a speaker designed to reproduce height channels.

Sealed Cabinet and Through-Bolt Technology

Unlike the reflex speakers in the Silver 8G range, the Silver AMS 8G uses a sealed cabinet, a solution that provides a fast and controlled response. The reinforced construction and Through-Bolt Technology also help minimize cabinet vibrations and provide the drivers with a mechanically stable platform.

The Silver AMS 8G has been designed to maintain the same construction and sonic philosophy as the other models in the Silver 8G range. Pairing it with the Silver 50 8G or Silver 300 8G allows you to create a coherent home cinema system in which the height speakers integrate naturally with the main channels.

The compact dimensions of 185 x 185 x 312 mm also make the Silver AMS 8G easy to integrate into the listening environment, while the three available finishes allow it to match the other Silver 8G speakers aesthetically.
