The Denon AVC-A10H is a first-class 13.4-channel surround receiver that offers a huge range of video features and audiophile solutions to give you the ultimate home theater experience.
The AVC-A10H shares many of the same technical solutions with the flagship Denon AVC-A1H, and is built in the exclusive Shirakawa factory in Japan to ensure maximum control over every detail. The main difference between the AVC-A10H and the AVC-A1H is that the AVC-A10H has two fewer channels than the flagship model.
The AVC-A10H delivers 150 watts of Hi-Fi* across 13 channels, with a massive amplifier section built in separate L/R monoblocks around a central transformer with enormous current reserves, which has a net weight of 8.1 kg. The output transistors are a high-current series specially developed for Denon (DHCT).
With the AVC-A10H, you get sound quality and functionality extremely close to the flagship model. If you are willing to settle for 13.4 channels and without the flagship model's XLR connections, all your home theater dreams will come true here!
Endless possibilities with 13.4 channels
With 13.4 channels, you can take your home theater to a breathtaking level, regardless of whether you use Dolby Atmos, DTS/DTS Pro (IMAX) or Auro-3D. All of these systems offer unparalleled reality in the audio reproduction of your movies. Especially since this model is equipped with the exclusive Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room acoustic correction. If you really want the best, the AVC-A10H can be enhanced with the advanced Dirac Live room correction system (available separately) via a software update. You can save one speaker preset with Audyssey and another with Dirac and easily switch between them with a button on the remote control. This makes it much easier to find the perfect setup.
AL32 Processing technology converts all audio signals to 32-bit, allowing for much more precise signal processing and therefore audibly better sound. All these refined details help to take your movie and music experiences to a unique level. The design is also particularly refined with an extra thick aluminum front and front cover.
7 HDMI 2.1 with 8K, eARC and the best for movies, TV and gaming with the best video quality
In true Denon tradition, the AVC-A10H is packed with the best and latest HDMI features. You get HDMI 2.1 with full 8K support on all inputs and two outputs, so you're ready for the amazing video quality of the future, whether the signal comes from a video streaming service or a games console like PS5 or Xbox Series X.
Denon has done everything to bring you a fantastic gaming experience in your home theater. You get 4K/120Hz support as well as ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), QFT (Quick Frame Transport) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). All these technologies ensure sharp, smooth images and perfect synchronization between audio and video in games.
With QMS (Quick Media Switching), you save yourself annoying waiting times and black screens when the video source changes frame rate or resolution. Three HDMI outputs (including Zone 2) give you all the options to create the perfect setup, whether you use a projector, a TV or both.
Via eARC, you can feed the audio signal – including Dolby Atmos – from your TV via the HDMI cable, so you can also enjoy the best sound from Netflix and all other high-resolution video services on the Internet. The AVC-A10H is ready for whatever solution you choose.
*Note: The 150 watts mentioned are measured as true Hi-Fi watts (8 Ohm, 20-20,000 Hz, low distortion, two channels in operation). With the measurement method of some competitors (1 kHz in one channel), the AVC-A10H reaches 210 watts. Consider this in comparisons!
The Denon AVC-A10H is available in a black or silver (Premium Silver) aluminum finish.
HEOS Multiroom Integration and Numerous Advanced Options
As a real treat, the AVC-A10H includes HEOS multiroom functionality built-in, giving you direct access to the world's music via a growing number of streaming services and tens of thousands of online radio stations, including your familiar national broadcasters, without any additional devices. For this reason, Denon has omitted traditional FM/DAB radio.
With the dedicated HEOS app, you have complete control and thus perfect integration and sound quality. If you want to listen wirelessly in different rooms, you can easily expand the system with an unlimited number of HEOS wireless speakers.
Voice Control Ready
The AVC-A10H is ready for voice control via Google Assistant and Apple Siri. With voice control you can manage a series of basic functions such as volume up/down and play/pause/skip, and in the future, you will have many more commands for an even richer and more immersive experience. However, the availability of voice control in your language depends on the services offered.
Please note that voice control requires a separate voice control device connected to the AVC-A10H, such as your smartphone or a separate voice control speaker available at a fraction of the cost.
150-watt Hi-Fi, L/R monoblocks and extremely solid, heavy construction
Denon surround receivers are known for their high sound quality and reliability – and for good reason. The basic structure of the amplifier section is based on proven analog principles, and the power supplies, components and circuit board layout have been tested, optimised and expanded over many generations of models.
The AVC-A10H is a true 13-channel amplifier, consisting of 13 identical 150-watt monoblocks with custom-designed high-current output transistors (DHCT). The left and right channels are divided into two separate sections, each with its own high-performance aluminum heat sink and a massive 8.1 kg transformer located in the centre. The different analog and digital sections of the amplifier are completely separate, and a series of separate power supplies ensures clean power for all circuits.
With this configuration, you can drive an entire 4-ohm surround speaker system without the risk of overload. To improve heat dissipation under heavy load, Denon has equipped the AVC-A10H with fan cooling. Naturally, the cooling is intelligently controlled so as not to unnecessarily disturb your enjoyment of movies or music with fan noise.
The mechanical structure is built extremely solidly and free from vibration, to provide optimal working conditions for all components. The case is constructed in three layers for optimum stability, with a 2 mm copper plate to help dissipate heat for the output transistors under heavy load.
Advanced audiophile solutions in a simple layout
The entire signal path of the AVC-A10H has been kept as short as possible to maximize sound quality. This includes the use of an extremely powerful Enhanced SHARC+ Dual Core DSP (Digital Signal Processor), pressure layering and advanced SMD (Surface Mount Devices) modules.
Critical D/A conversion is handled by a 32-bit HD version of Denon's exclusive D.D.S.C. configuration, with 9 high-quality 32-bit/192 kHz stereo D/A converters.
All channels also use Denon's exclusive AL32 Processing technology to upsample all digital audio sources - such as 16-bit music CD signals - to 32-bit. This ultra-high resolution ensures extremely precise signal processing, providing significantly improved sound, whether you're listening to music or movie soundtracks.
Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D and DTS:X - three ways to get the ultimate cinematic sound
With Dolby Atmos, you get the same home theater sound system used in the world's finest movie theaters. Many console games and a wide range of recent film productions - on Blu-ray or Netflix - include Dolby Atmos information in the soundtrack. The HDMI circuitry is also ready for Atmos from TV broadcasts via the eARC function.
With the built-in 13.4 channels, you can create a true surround home cinema with four subwoofers and additional Atmos speakers (9.4. 4 / 7.4. 6) without the need for additional amplifiers. If you have an uncompromising approach to your home cinema, Dolby Atmos will take you to the next level!
Auro-3D was developed as a direct competitor to Dolby Atmos, and here too it is about creating a new dimension of sound in height. In Auro-3D, the additional layer is created by duplicating the front and side channels with additional speakers in the ceiling. By adjusting the balance between high and low, you create a soundstage with an additional feeling of depth. In a full 13-channel configuration, Auro-3D adds an additional VOG (Voice of God) channel mounted in the center of the soundstage in the ceiling.
The third of these advanced 3D surround formats is DTS:X, which the AVC-A10H has supported from the start.
Excellent usability and Remote Control App
During the initial setup, one of the things you will appreciate is the new and impressively designed graphical user interface with 1080p resolution, which offers particularly beautiful and clear menus, while the entire structure has been rethought and optimized. When you first connect the AVC-A10H to your TV or projector, the Denon Setup Assistant launches, guiding you step by step through all the necessary settings for speakers, ambient sound correction, network and inputs.
The speaker terminals are horizontally aligned so you can see everything from above, and the new color coding makes everything much easier. You can also label the cables with the color stickers provided. The AVC-A10H remembers two different speaker configurations that you can quickly switch between (Dual Speaker). This way, you can test different configurations or save one for movies and music or another for friendly nighttime listening.
The finishing touch is the Denon AVR Remote (2016) app, which gives you complete control over all system operations, including Spotify. You can manage setup and playback and browse your music collection from your PC/NAS, including album art. Since it is done via HDMI-CEC, it works in most cases regardless of the brand of player."
2-way Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2 - wireless music streaming in every conceivable form
In addition to HEOS (which can cover many streaming needs, including Internet radio), the AVC-A10H has a built-in wireless network (Wi-Fi). You have access to Apple AirPlay 2, which offers advanced multi-room functionality with all AirPlay 2 wireless speakers via your iPhone/iPad. The technology is part of Apple's iOS operating system, so any app that can play audio - including YouTube and Netflix - can stream it directly to AirPlay 2-compatible speakers and systems.
Spotify Connect is ideal if you already love your Spotify app. Here, your smartphone acts as a remote control for Spotify, not as a music player. This offers much better battery life and stability than, for example, streaming via Bluetooth, and you can play music via the same Spotify app you already know.
Built-in Bluetooth lets you and your friends and family easily access the system's wireless music playback from your phone, tablet or computer. The receiver automatically turns on and switches to the correct input when you select it via Bluetooth. Thanks to two-way Bluetooth, the receiver can also play music through wireless headphones.
Three HDMI outputs, advanced video processing, 8K video and a single HDMI cable to your TV
The AVC-A10H has three HDMI outputs, including HDMI Zone 2, and you also get 7 HDMI inputs with HDCP2.3, 8K and upscaling up to 8K/60Hz via HDMI. In practice, this means you can connect all your digital video sources to the receiver (including 8K) and send the best possible picture to your TV or projector via a single cable. With the Audio Return Channel, you can also send the sound from your TV to the receiver via the same HDMI cable, including Dolby Atmos information via eARC*.
Audyssey MultEQ-XT32 - Super-precise room correction with four subwoofers
The AVC-A10H features the high-end Audyssey MultEQ-32XT system, which enables extremely precise, high-resolution digital room correction at up to eight measurement positions in the room. The system can acoustically calibrate and correct four separate subwoofers simultaneously, allowing you to enjoy incredibly deep and precise bass reproduction in your home theater. The four subwoofers do not even need to be identical or symmetrically positioned.
Audyssey LFC, Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ for easy everyday use
Audyssey LFC is a "neighbor-friendly" feature that gently adjusts the bass so that it spreads as little as possible to the walls and therefore to your neighbors. Without affecting the listening experience in the room more than necessary.
Audyssey Dynamic Volume is an intelligent feature that monitors the volume of the program material and ensures that your listening level remains constant - even if you change the signal source or channel on your TV. No more turning the volume up and down to the rhythm of commercial breaks. Audyssey Dynamic EQ is an advanced digital volume control that adapts the sound at low volume levels.
Note: The features mentioned above are designed to help you in special situations, such as late-night delays, when the kids are in bed. For an optimal HiFi experience, you can - and should - turn them off. Luckily, it’s extremely simple, and you can save up to four custom presets to quickly switch between the optimal settings for movies, music, and evening listening.
