ATC SCM19A – the active version of the reference bookshelf loudspeaker of the Entry Series

SCM19A by ATC are the active version of the homonymous Entry Series bookshelf speakers, integrating amplifier modules to obtain maximum performance from the famous ATC drivers.

They boast a 182W Class AB bi-amplification module inside each speaker, custom designed and built by the British brand itself and divided into 32W for the tweeter and 150W for the bass driver.

Two MOSFET transistors are reserved for each channel, which are equivalent to four output stages managed by three separate secondary power supplies to "scale" power based on frequency band and driver demands.

The active crossovers are fourth order Linkwitz-Riley type at 380Hz and 3.5kHz with built-in phase compensation. Thanks to the direct connection between the power amplifier and the driver, each amplifier does not have to manage the entire audio spectrum, but only a specific portion of the frequency, thus simplifying the work of the amplifier itself. The result is better control, more accurate handling of crossover points and therefore less distortion.

The 25mm soft dome tweeter benefits from a unique doped polyester double suspension design, which adds a secondary suspension for greater control, and the 150mm woofer with a powerful short-coil motor features proprietary technology. SL – Super Linear – which drastically reduces distortion. Both of these drivers are derived from the Classic Series.

The rear panel houses the input for the power cable, an on/off switch and the balanced XLR input for connection to the preamplifier via analog signal cable.
