Chord Clearway Analogue Audio Cable

Epic Analogue is the high-level HiFi cable proposed by the English brand with proprietary Tuned ARAY technology and ultra-curated terminations - be it the silver Chord VEE 3 RCA or the balanced XLR connectors. The heart of Epic Analogue features silver-plated, multi-strand, oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors, with a significant volume of PTFE insulation around each conductor. The insulated conductors are then encased in a specially chosen PVC jacket to minimize mechanical noise and this is finally protected by a nylon braid.

Obviously much of the cable's performance comes from the special geometry of the Tuned ARAY conductor. The technology contained in the ARAY patent allows the cable to manage all this information with maximum coherence, creating a genuinely musical and engaging sound. The end result is a cable capable of bringing much more detail and dynamics and which better portrays the different timbres of the instruments.

There are a myriad of mid-range CD players, streamers and DACs that are renowned for the exceptional amount of detail they produce. A good quality CD player in our demo room sounds more than good already connected to a Shawline cable but by switching to an Epic cable an increase in detail and coherence is immediately perceptible. If we look for the analytical experience it is there, but so is the musical involvement.

Chord Epic Analogue is always available as standard in 0.5 m and 1 m lengths with 2RCA-2RCA connectors. It can also be purchased to order with XLR terminations and in custom lengths.

Chord Epic Analogue 50 or 100cm

The most used lengths with Epic Analogue signal cables are between 50cm and 150cm but it is also possible - with a few weeks of waiting for the creation - to request an Epic Analogue cable of the preferred length. These cables, both the standard ones immediately available and those made on request, are all invariably handmade with the expertise you expect from an absolute specialist.

Why spend on an audio cable?

Cables need to be better than ever. There are affordable devices on the market that sound excellent and cost from a few hundred euros to a few thousand euros. Chord Epic XLR balanced cables

The HiFi Chord Epic cables use the Tuned ARAY technique and patent already used in the Clearway line but contain materials with superior acoustic properties for better transmission. The insulation has also been increased and the shielding is made of double-layer heavy foil.

With Epic XLR the processing of each individual cable requires absolute precision and requires completely manual assembly. The cable design can accommodate both RCA and XLR terminations. While XLR is superior to many, RCA is vastly more popular. There is (and always will be) much debate about whether the best cable to use is XLR or RCA. From our point of view the only answer, if you have both XLR and RCA connectors available in your system, is to listen for yourself. Tuned ARAY XLR cables can be a real game changer with some equipment, so give them a try! You might be surprised.

To create the Epic AnalogueXLR cable a third conductor was introduced, and in this case the cable carries three identical conductors for all three connections, as well as the famous Tuned ARAY technology. Epic XLR is manufactured with the same configuration with which Chord creates the high-end Signature and Sarum T XLR HiFi cables.

The most important reason behind the development of the Chord Epic Analogue signal cables was the search for an excellent quality cable, which tends towards the High End performance of premium cables such as Sarum and Signature, but which was an excellent choice for the most modern players CDs, turntables and active speakers. These excellent devices can express their musical potential only through connections of the same quality level, and it is recommended not to reduce their performance by using terrible or cheap cables.
