Hifight is pleased to present Volumio Primo: the network music player and streamer with integrated high-level DAC to navigate the world of streaming without compromising between practicality and quality. Developed and manufactured by in the Florence office, Primo V2 is the update of the product that made Volumio famous all over the world for the combination of audio quality between hardware and software.

It includes all the features of Volumio Premium as well as Bit-perfect playback – ie without any digital signal processing – up to 192 kHz 24 bit, DSD128 via DoP to offer great fluidity to music reproduction. Equipped with the Volumio 3 operating system, it can be managed by the exclusive Manifest interface to access all music content.

Primo is a single product aimed at those who already have a traditional audio system and want to complete it with high-level Streaming connectivity.

It integrates SABER's top-of-the-line DAC – ESS 9038Q2M – so it can be connected to the analog inputs of high-end amplifiers and active systems. The best way to revive old supplements with vintage charm!

Primo supports the main streaming services, including Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz, as well as the Multiroom functionality to create an integrated environment in all home and professional areas.

Great performance, ease of use

The frame was designed by Design Narratives and made of anti-magnetic aluminum to avoid any interference with nearby devices. It maintains the profile and dimensions of other Volumio products, enhanced by a front panel with a dark wood texture and a status LED on the power button.

Connectivity with the main streaming platforms is also guaranteed, such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, also via Airplay. Plugins are available to connect you to many other services and features like Youtube, Soundcloud, Radio Paradise, FusionDSP and more.

Wireless connectivity is supported by the latest Wi Fi quality standards and the high quality aptX 5.0 Bluetooth module.

Music content can also be played from local drives connected to the network or physically – such as USB Pen Drives or external HDDs – all thanks to Volumio OS.

Uncompromising compatibility

Primo hides under the chassis a highly performing quadcore processor of the latest generation which allows a great speed of response even with liquid music in HD.

Primo is the cutting-edge answer for integrated amplifiers or two chassis - Pre and Finale - without DAC. This feature makes it capable of updating Vintage electronics and making them interconnected.

You can connect to the analog inputs of high quality pre-amplifiers or integrated. The ideal partner is the dynamic and powerful Cyrus One, in line with Primo's philosophy.

Compatibility with other Volumio products is total: this makes multiroom use possible by creating a single interconnected environment, both for domestic and professional installations.

The digital inputs allow connection to all modern devices, such as CD transporters such as the award-winning Cyrus CD-T transport, and take advantage of the Ripping functionality.

The right cable makes all the difference!

Primo V2 is the digital interface for high quality integrated circuits. To make the most of its potential, it is also recommended to invest in connections, an essential and potentially problematic element of the audio chain.

The analog audio outputs are available in the classic RCA stereo format and in the more performing XLR balanced standard. To squeeze the full performance out of this system, we recommend the use of Chord Company's Clearway line interconnect cables, capable of great detail, clarity and transparency.

The signals in our HiFi chain are sensitive to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), especially for the incoming signal from the network, for this we recommend Clearway Stream shielded Ethernet cable.

Primo V2 can be used as a pure transport, by connecting the S/PDIF coaxial digital output to an external DAC or to a quality integrated that handles digital signals. In this case, we recommend connection via Clearway Digital Coaxial cable.

It is also possible to use the TV to see the interface during playback and navigate between covers and textual content of streaming platforms, connecting it via HDMI.

The first element of the audio chain is the current: every sudden change in voltage is potentially harmful to our equipment, causing annoying "noises" even in Hi Fi electronics. For this the use of good quality power strips to improve the performance and life of the connected devices.
