A great turntable deserves a great pre-amp module. The MoFi UltraPhono replicates the high transparency across the full bandwidth demanded by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab engineers. Tim De Paravicini, the lead designer of Mobile Fidelity's Ultra Analog Gain2™ cutting system, supervised the internal circuit design to ensure that your home analog system faithfully reproduces the music hidden in the grooves of your LPs. UltraPhono also includes an audiophile-grade Class A headphone amplifier for an intimate and true listening experience.

Class A headphone amplifier

UltraPhono includes a powerful Class A headphone amplifier perfect for quiet nights when you want to keep your listening private. And with a 31-step volume control built right into the unit, all you need to do is plug your headphones directly in and crank up the volume! It's the simplest way to get high fidelity playback from vinyl without speakers and electronics.

MoFi UltraPhono: Adjustable gain and load

With selectable gain and load, you'll be able to use the Mofi UltraPhono by adapting it to almost any moving magnet or moving coil cartridge on the market. A set of convenient toggle switches can be found on the underside of the unit to make adjustments quickly without the need for tools.

Tip: Filtered AC current

In HiFi listening chains, the various devices must be consistent with each other to get the best result. Amplifiers and delicate electronics should always be powered with possibly controlled and filtered electric current. Any noise induced by sudden changes in the home network or in the macro living area is reflected in voltage oscillations - even important and harmful to the device - which in the best case are detrimental to listening pleasure and the absolute performance of our devices . We strongly recommend the use of shielded power cords and good quality power strips with decent to good quality amplifiers and audio electronics. These improve the life and performance of the connected devices and also of the rest of the appliances in the house since they do not filter disturbances and discharges but, symmetrically, do not emit them. Toroidal electrical insulators for HiFi are also recommended to obtain the maximum in terms of listening and safety.
