Born from Audiolab’s pioneering M-DAC line and a family of modern DAC-equipped electronics, the D7 continues the tradition of class-leading DAC performance at an entry-level price.

    Compact, affordable, high-end performance

The Audiolab M-DAC changed the landscape of affordable audiophile DAC technology when it was launched in 2011. It paved the way for Audiolab’s DAC integration into a plethora of award-winning and reference hi-fi components, with the current evolution sitting in the flagship and revered 9000 Series.

Pioneers of affordable hi-fi since the brand’s inception, the Audiolab 6000 Series and, more recently, the 7000 Series, have delivered world-class performance at surprising prices. Following this philosophy, with a touch of trickle-down technology and benefiting from thousands of hours of class-leading component development, the Audiolab D7 is a new desktop DAC that exudes the simplicity and clarity for which Audiolab is renowned. Challenging the industry’s most affordable DACs, the D7 distils high-end engineering into a compact, affordable package.

Compact, robust and uncompromising in its features, the D7 is designed to reflect Audiolab’s traditional style, fit and finish. It features an OLED display and intuitive operating menu that provides instant access to the features, functions and performance that set it apart from other DACs in its class. Unlike many competitors, the D7’s display, menu and remote are designed to enhance usability, going beyond the buttons, LEDs and limited functionality you might be used to at this price point.

    Cutting-edge chipset

Heavily inspired by the Audiolab 7000A, the D7 integrates cutting-edge digital-to-analog signal conversion, thanks to the ESS9038Q2M chipset. This allows the integration of digital sources into analog systems, such as a CD player or a wireless streamer.

    Connectivity galore

The D7 features four S/PDIF inputs (two coaxial and two optical), a USB HDD input for playback from external flash drives, and a USB Type-B input for connecting to a PC, Mac, smartphone or tablet. It also offers a choice of coaxial, optical or fully balanced analogue RCA and XLR outputs, making it an extremely versatile digital audio hub. Bluetooth reception is also included, with support for multiple codecs including aptX HD, and compatibility with Bluetooth 5.1 for optimum range and speed.

High-resolution audio and full MQA decoding

The next-generation 32-bit Sabre chip, the ES9038Q2M, is a benchmark in DAC standards. Featuring proprietary circuitry that takes full advantage of the ESS HyperStream II architecture and a Time Domain Jitter Eliminator for ultra-low noise and high dynamic range, Audiolab engineers have a proven track record in implementing this chip into class-leading digital audio conversion devices.

The D7 offers high-resolution audio support with up to DSD 22.5792MHz (DSD512) and 32-bit/768kHz PCM via USB, or 24-bit/192kHz PCM via S/PDIF (optical and coaxial). It is also a fully functional MQA decoder, with the entire “three-stage” decoding process performed internally, rather than just the final stage as with an MQA renderer.

    Above and Beyond

Users can choose to upsample digital audio signals to 352.8kHz or 384kHz. With expertly implemented DAC reconstruction filter settings, the D7 offers five options to tailor performance to source files or system components. This feature will be greatly appreciated, given the wide variety of digital file formats supported, not to mention users of headphones or digital streaming services.

    Head-Fi yes Hi-Fi

The D7 features a high-powered headphone amplifier with current feedback circuitry to complement its versatility. Like the 7000A, this solution is designed for all types of headphones, ensuring exceptional clarity and power.

    No compromise

Designed to match the Audiolab 7000 or 6000 Series in finish, feel, style and quality, the D7’s all-aluminum chassis and tactile control interface deliver 360-degree Audiolab performance in a high-value DAC that offers features, performance and versatility unmatched at this level.

Designed to match the Audiolab 6000 and 7000 Series, the D7's aluminum chassis, tactile controls, OLED display, and full-featured remote control enhance usability while maintaining Audiolab's signature sleek, sophisticated aesthetic.

The Audiolab D7 sets a new standard for entry-level DACs, proving that affordable pricing means no compromise.
