Chord Mojo 2 is the world's most advanced portable DAC and headphone amplifier, now refined and made even more versatile. Designed and built entirely in the UK, Mojo 2 combines Chord Electronics' legendary FPGA technology, the sonic transparency of the world's first lossless DSP, and, in the new updated version, modern and extensive connectivity thanks to the 4.4mm Pentaconn input and USB-C charging.
The king of portable DACs is back... and even better.
Hifight is pleased to present the next evolution of the Mojo 2 by Chord Electronics. Distinctly different from any other HiFi device, Mojo 2 uses proprietary digital audio technology, refined over two decades of research, coupled with a powerful FPGA processor. The result is unparalleled, class-leading sound quality both on the go and at home, with the ability to effortlessly drive any headphone.
The new updated version (December 2025) introduces crucial updates highly requested by the audiophile community, while maintaining the award-winning design and competitive price.
The Biggest New Features of the Updated Version
Chord Electronics has refined the Mojo 2, making it the perfect companion for today's most demanding headphones:
New 4.4mm Pentaconn Output: Mojo 2 replaces one of the two 3.5mm outputs with a premium 4.4mm connection, opening the door to a much wider range of high-end headphones and balanced in-ear monitors (IEMs), without the need for adapters.
Independent Volume Memory: The 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs now feature independent volume memory. This allows you to switch between headphones without having to adjust the levels each time, ensuring safety and convenience.
Switchable USB-C Charging: In response to user feedback, the USB-C data input has been updated. Now supports switchable charging: you can power and charge the Mojo 2 directly through the standard USB-C port, simplifying cable management (a single cable for data and power) without sacrificing quality.
Unique FPGA Technology and “UHD” Lossless DSP
At the heart of the Mojo 2 beats the same powerful Xilinx Artix 7 FPGA processor (the same one found in the higher-end Hugo 2). Unlike standard DACs that use standard chips, the Mojo 2 uses a proprietary programmable circuit that manages 40,960 taps (the unit of measurement for digital filter precision), ensuring unrivaled technical and musical resolution.
World's First Lossless DSP: Mojo 2 integrates a revolutionary 104-bit “UHD DSP,” a completely transparent digital tone control that operates without any degradation in sound quality. This allows you to tailor the frequency response to your tastes or the characteristics of your headphones through four dedicated equalizers (Bass, Low-Mid, High-Mid, and High), capable of "softening" harshness or fleshing out recordings while preserving the magic of the original sound.
Iconic Design and Intuitive Interface
Mojo 2 retains its CNC-milled aircraft-grade aluminum chassis, sturdy and lightweight (about 185g), perfect for mobility. The user interface is based on Chord's famous polychromatic spheres:
Menu Button: A fourth sphere allows you to navigate through advanced functions: crossfeed (4 levels to simulate listening through speakers), key lock, brightness, and tone adjustments.
Visual Indication: The color of the spheres instantly indicates the sampling rate of the file being played and the volume level.
Intelligent Battery and Desktop Mode
Thanks to new FPGA power management, Mojo 2 offers:
More efficient and cooler charging: Less power loss and optimized charging, now also available via USB-C.
Battery Life: Over 8 hours of continuous listening.
Intelligent Desktop Mode: You can leave Mojo 2 permanently connected to a power source (for example, a PC or Mac). The system bypasses the battery once charged, preserving its life and performance over time. This makes Mojo 2 an exceptional desktop DAC, not just a portable one.
Extreme Expandability: From Cables to Upscaling
Mojo 2 is not just a smartphone DAC, but a complete digital hub. Thanks to the coaxial input with dual data connections, Mojo 2 is ready to interface with the Chord M-Scaler, the upscaler that elevates audio resolution to even greater levels. For those looking for the most out of physical connections, HIFIGHT recommends targeted combinations: for optical inputs, Chord C-LITE cables (available with Toslink or Minijack terminations) are ideal, while to make the most of the coaxial input with 3.5mm termination, the Clearway Digital cable is the ideal choice, capable of guaranteeing perfect signal transport without interference.
Breathe new life into traditional sources and control everything
The versatility of Mojo 2 extends far beyond streaming music. It's the perfect solution for revitalizing classic Hi-Fi systems: it can be inserted between a transport and an integrated amplifier without a DAC, dramatically improving the sound quality of your home system. The user experience is made even more intuitive by color logic: Mojo 2 offers two main volume "ranges" to accommodate sensitive or demanding headphones. A glance at the menu button is all it takes: off indicates the low volume range, while white indicates the high range. Additionally, you can adjust the brightness of the spheres to two levels (normal and low) for distraction-free listening at night.
Mojo 2 + Poly = Ultimate Wireless Streaming
Despite the upgrade to USB-C ports, Mojo 2 maintains full backward compatibility with the Poly streamer module. Poly attaches magnetically to the Mojo 2, transforming it into a full-featured wireless network player (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, Roon Ready, DLNA) with a MicroSD slot for local playback. Note: The Micro-USB data/charging port remains present to ensure seamless integration with Poly.
Who is the Mojo 2 for?
1. The Audiophile on the Go: Connect your smartphone (iOS or Android) via USB-C and use your best 4.4mm or 3.5mm wired headphones for a studio-quality experience anywhere.
2. The Desktop User: A stable companion on the desk, connected to your Mac/PC, capable of driving demanding headphones or acting as a preamp for a home Hi-Fi system.
3. The Gamer and Cinephile: Thanks to zero latency and crossfeed, it offers unique spatial sound immersion.
