Indiana Line Lira 5 is an elegant 2-way floorstanding speaker designed to deliver dynamic, transparent and full-bodied sound from a particularly compact cabinet. Designed for domestic environments ranging from smaller rooms to more intimate listening spaces, Lira 5 combines a refined aesthetic with technical solutions developed according to the proprietary Symbiotic Drive philosophy.
The design integrates cabinet, drivers and crossover into a single electroacoustic system, using carefully selected materials such as Curv, aluminium-magnesium, MDF and bamboo. The objective is to achieve coherent and precise reproduction, with a wide soundstage, controlled bass and natural midrange performance.
The heart of Lira 5 is represented by the Symbiotic Drive philosophy, according to which the drivers, cabinet and crossover are developed as parts of a single design. This approach makes it possible to optimize the overall behaviour of the loudspeaker without unnecessary complexity, focusing instead on perfect integration between its individual elements.
The MDF cabinet features a particularly rigid structure, with a 21 mm front baffle and a network of internal bamboo reinforcements. The non-parallel side walls taper towards the upper section of the speaker, helping to reduce internal resonances while giving Lira 5 an elegant and slender appearance.
The slight rearward inclination of the cabinet also improves the time alignment of the drivers, promoting accurate sound projection and precise soundstage reconstruction.
The high-frequency section uses a 28 mm tweeter with an aluminium-magnesium alloy dome, positioned inside the 3D-Guide waveguide. The system is completed by the EQ-Ring phase corrector, designed to broaden and smooth dispersion away from the main listening axis.
The hybrid rear chamber reduces resonances generated by the rear wave of the dome, while the neodymium magnet provides effective control of the driver. The motor assembly also incorporates a copper cap that contributes to thermal management and distortion reduction.
The combination of 3D-Guide, EQ-Ring and LC-Trap circuitry provides precise, smooth and well-integrated high-frequency reproduction with the midrange.
The mid and low frequencies are handled by a pair of 150 mm midwoofers with Curv diaphragms. This material, made from woven polypropylene, combines rigidity with internal damping, providing an effective balance between dynamics, precision and natural reproduction.
The drivers feature proprietary die-cast aluminium baskets with an aerodynamic design, 100 mm ferrite magnets and 1" voice coils. The magnetic system is completed by a triple shorting-ring assembly designed to precisely control inductance and contribute to distortion reduction.
The second-generation Dual-Wave surround extends the driver's linear operating range, reducing distortion particularly at lower frequencies and improving the articulation of the midrange.
The Lira 5 crossover has been designed to maintain maximum coherence between the different driver sections. Its 2-way topology uses air-core inductors, non-inductive resistors and polypropylene capacitors.
The simplicity of the configuration helps reduce phase shifts between the drivers, promoting a homogeneous sound presentation. Dedicated LC-Trap circuits also contribute to linearizing the tweeter response.
The result is a wide and precise soundstage, combined with fast transient response and excellent overall time coherence.
One of Lira 5's distinctive features is its downward-firing bass-reflex port. The particular position of the port takes advantage of the proximity to the floor to support low-frequency radiation while helping to reduce unwanted acoustic interference.
The loudspeaker rests on four rubber feet that contribute to mechanical isolation from the floor while maintaining the clearance required for correct operation of the reflex port. This configuration allows effective low-frequency extension while keeping turbulence and compression phenomena under control.
Lira 5 interprets the traditional lyre-inspired design in a contemporary form, combining clean surfaces, tapered lines and a slightly inclined structure. The magnetic grille, designed to maintain acoustic transparency, can easily be removed to showcase the drivers and the loudspeaker's distinctive design.
The multi-layer matte finish protects the cabinet while contributing to an elegant and discreet appearance, available in White and Black versions.
