The Marantz MODEL 70 is a 2-channel stereo integrated amplifier designed to combine Marantz's Hi-Fi heritage with the requirements of modern listening. Its Class A/B amplification section delivers 50 W per channel into 8 Ohms, while comprehensive connectivity includes digital inputs, Bluetooth with aptX Adaptive, an MM phono input and HDMI ARC for direct connection to a television.

The MODEL 70 uses a Current Feedback configuration and proprietary HDAM SA3 circuitry, together with selected audio components and a linear power supply. The result is a versatile amplifier designed to handle both analogue and digital sources within a modern stereo system.

Marantz Class A/B Amplification

The MODEL 70 uses a Class A/B output stage with Current Feedback topology, designed to provide dynamic response and stable control of the connected loudspeakers. Rated power reaches 50 W per channel into 8 Ohms and 65 W per channel into 4 Ohms, allowing the amplifier to drive a wide range of floorstanding and standmount speakers.

The power supply has been designed to provide stable current to the amplification section. The toroidal transformer, linear power supply and extruded aluminium heatsinks contribute to efficient energy and thermal management during operation.

HDAM SA3 Circuitry

The Marantz HDAM SA3 circuitry is integrated into the MODEL 70 signal stage to optimize circuit speed and precision. The design uses selected audio components and custom components at various points along the signal path.

The Source Direct function can also bypass the tone-control circuits when they are not required, providing a configuration focused on direct signal reproduction.

Comprehensive Digital Connectivity

The MODEL 70 is designed to handle modern digital sources as well. Its integrated D/A converter allows digital sources to be connected directly through the optical and coaxial inputs, eliminating the need for an external DAC in simpler system configurations.

Connectivity also includes Bluetooth with aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX and AAC, allowing music to be streamed wirelessly from compatible devices.

HDMI ARC for Television

One of the features that distinguishes the MODEL 70 from traditional stereo amplifiers is its HDMI ARC input. A television can be connected directly to the amplifier, allowing the MODEL 70 to handle television programmes, movies and streaming content through the stereo system.

This solution makes it easy to integrate the amplifier into a modern home entertainment system while keeping the configuration simple and clean.

Integrated MM Phono Input

Vinyl enthusiasts can connect a turntable fitted with an MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge directly to the amplifier. The integrated phono stage provides a complete solution without requiring an external phono preamplifier.

The phono input has a sensitivity of 3.1 mV and an impedance of 47 kOhms, while the specified signal-to-noise ratio reaches 83 dB.

Subwoofer Output and Headphone Connection

The MODEL 70 features a dedicated subwoofer output, allowing an active subwoofer to be added to a stereo system in order to extend low-frequency reproduction.

For personal listening, a headphone output is also provided, with dedicated volume management when using Bluetooth transmission with compatible headphones.

Marantz Design

The MODEL 70 adopts Marantz's distinctive design language in a contemporary form. The front panel combines traditional controls with a low-noise OLED display, maintaining a clean and easily readable layout.

The construction uses a compact chassis considering the available features and power, with Black and Silver-Gold finishes available to suit different Hi-Fi system configurations.
