The Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 is a high-end all-in-one audio hub that combines music streamer, DAC, CD player and analog preamplifier functions in a single component. The new Master Edition Gen. 2 represents the evolution of the DMP-A8 platform, featuring an further optimized digital section, separate power supplies for the analog and digital sections, an OCXO clock with PLL technology and particularly refined construction.

At the heart of the digital-to-analog conversion section is the sophisticated AK4191EQ + AK4499EXEQ architecture, combined with AKM Velvet Sound technology. The system supports playback of files up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and Native DSD512, providing a signal path designed to preserve detail, dynamics and instrument separation.

The Master Edition Gen. 2 also incorporates a proprietary top-loading CD player, engineered for precise and quiet optical disc reading, transforming the DMP-A8 into a true control centre for a complete Hi-Fi system.

Reference-Class AKM DAC and High-Resolution Audio Path

The digital architecture of the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 uses two AKM components with dedicated functions: the AK4191EQ handles digital processing, while the AK4499EXEQ performs D/A conversion. Combined with Velvet Sound technology, this configuration is designed to achieve exceptional conversion precision and natural reproduction of voices, instruments and spatial information.

High-resolution format support extends up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and Native DSD512. The EOS Audio Engine also allows the system to maintain a Bit-Perfect audio path, avoiding the limitations of the standard Android audio path.

Master Edition with Integrated CD Player

One of the defining features of the Master Edition Gen. 2 is its integrated proprietary CD player. The system uses a mechanism designed for audio applications together with a high-precision error-correction system, with the aim of achieving stable and accurate reading of CD media.

The top-loading mechanism also adds a distinctive aesthetic and functional element, making CD playback an integral part of the listening experience.

OCXO Clock and External Clock Input

The Master Edition Gen. 2 uses an OCXO clock with PLL technology, developed to improve the timing stability of the digital system. An input for an adaptive external 10 MHz clock is also provided, allowing the DMP-A8 to be integrated into systems using external reference clocks.

Fully Balanced Analog Preamplifier

The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 is not simply a streamer and DAC: it can operate as a complete preamplifier within a Hi-Fi system. The analog section uses a fully balanced architecture with XLR and RCA inputs and XLR and RCA outputs.

Volume control is handled by a precise R-2R resistor ladder operating in the analog domain, a solution designed to preserve dynamics and detail without relying solely on digital signal attenuation.

Streaming and Network Connectivity

The DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 provides a comprehensive streaming platform with support for Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, DLNA/UPnP and numerous music services, including Apple Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer.

Network connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and optical SFP. The SFP port allows the use of a fibre connection with electrical isolation, which can be particularly useful in systems where reducing interference from the network is a priority.

SSD Expansion up to 8 TB

The chassis incorporates an M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 2280 slot supporting an SSD of up to 8 TB. This allows the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 to also function as a genuine local music library, providing direct access to a high-resolution collection.

The unit also features 8 GB DDR5 RAM and 64 GB internal eMMC storage, ensuring smooth operation of the interface and music library management functions.

Room Correction and 20-Band PEQ

To adapt reproduction to the characteristics of the listening environment, the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 incorporates the evotune™ PRO room correction system, which uses measurements made with a USB microphone or smartphone to adjust the acoustic behaviour of the room.

A professional 20-band parametric equalizer is also available, with adjustment of frequency, gain and Q, together with functions for FIR filter import, loudness and dynamic range compression.

8.6" Touchscreen Display

Interaction with the DMP-A8 Master Edition Gen. 2 is handled through a large 8.6" LCD touchscreen, complemented by control via the Eversolo app and remote control. The interface allows music, streaming, library, volume, inputs and system settings to be managed directly from the front panel.
