GENELEC 8050B

Genelec 8050B is a powerful bi-amplified monitoring system capable of a sound pressure of 120dB SPL per pair, with a frequency response up to 35Hz. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the power consumption of the system to less than 0.5 watts by putting the monitor in standby automatically when no signal is detected on the inputs. It is an excellent tool for large recording studios, broadcast and surround installations, mastering, post-production and TV studios. The sophisticated active crossover filter is equipped with versatile controls to better adapt the response of the speaker to the listening environment. Each driver is powered by a dedicated low distortion amplifier with a protection circuit. The reflex duct has been designed to provide clear and defined lows, without distortions, compressions or disturbances. The combination of the waveguide control, Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), the rounded corners and the subtle curvature of the cabinet, MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure), give a surprisingly flat frequency response both on and off axis. Another great advantage is an extremely precise and detailed imaging and a minimum of listening fatigue. The assembly of 8050B is made simple by the Iso-Pods (Isolation Positioner / Decoupler): supports able to eliminate any sound colorations by decoupling the monitor from the surface on which it is placed. Iso-Pod also allows the monitor to be angled to point it perfectly in line with the listener.
