T+A Solitaire P-SE is a high-end headphone designed to deliver an exceptionally natural, transparent and dynamic musical reproduction. Derived directly from the prestigious Solitaire P, it features T+A's proprietary TPM 2500 planar-magnetic driver, developed and manufactured in-house in Herford, Germany.
This listing refers exclusively to the version supplied with the 4.4 mm Pentaconn balanced cable. The supplied 3-metre cable uses ultra-high-purity OFC conductors with silver coating, a fully symmetrical configuration and a silver-plated braided shield. T+A selected the Pentaconn connection for its excellent contact characteristics and suitability for high-end balanced headphone amplification.
The heart of the Solitaire P-SE is the TPM 2500, a planar-magnetic transducer developed by T+A and derived from the TPM 3100 used in the Solitaire P.
The system uses powerful neodymium magnets arranged according to a precisely calculated geometry. The single-row magnet configuration helps keep the overall weight under control while providing the magnetic field strength required for highly precise diaphragm control.
The diaphragm consists of an extremely thin and lightweight film incorporating a precisely calculated conductive circuit. Its conductor impedance is approximately 45 ohms.
The even distribution of force across the entire diaphragm surface allows the Solitaire P-SE to achieve high dynamics, extremely low distortion and exceptionally fast transient response.
The open-back construction of the Solitaire P-SE helps prevent the resonances commonly associated with closed headphone designs and allows the diaphragm to move freely.
The result is an exceptionally transparent presentation with precise, powerful bass, clear midrange and refined, highly detailed treble. The design objective is to preserve the musical signal as faithfully as possible, with minimal coloration.
The Solitaire P-SE combines several carefully selected materials, each chosen for its mechanical and acoustic properties.
Components are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, with precision in the order of hundredths of a millimetre. The earcups are designed for high internal damping, while the headband and mechanical connections are engineered for strength and long-term durability.
The surfaces are finished using high-quality coatings developed for aerospace applications, while the ear pads and headband are handcrafted in Germany using hypoallergenic synthetic leather and velvet.
This version of the Solitaire P-SE is supplied exclusively with the 4.4 mm Pentaconn balanced cable.
The cable is 3 metres long and uses ultra-high-purity OFC copper conductors with silver coating. The four signal conductors are embedded in cotton threads and surrounded by a silver-plated braided shield.
The fully symmetrical construction keeps the left and right channels completely separate, helping minimise mutual interference. The connectors feature high-quality gold-plated contacts, while the 4.4 mm Pentaconn connector provides excellent mechanical and electrical contact characteristics.
The cable is covered with Hytrel® and TPE materials free from PVC and latex, designed to provide flexibility, durability and reduced mechanical resonance.
The Solitaire P-SE uses an open-back circumaural design, with large earcups that completely surround the ears.
The open architecture contributes to a natural sound presentation and helps prevent the accumulation of unwanted resonances inside the earcups. It is particularly well suited to dedicated listening in quiet environments and with high-quality headphone amplifiers.
Despite its sophisticated planar-magnetic driver system, T+A has paid considerable attention to keeping the Solitaire P-SE comfortable and manageable for long listening sessions.
The redesigned headband allows the headphones to sit close to the head, while the carefully selected materials used for the ear pads and headband provide a comfortable contact surface during extended listening.
The headphone weighs 440 g without cable.
T+A Solitaire P-SE is designed for listeners looking for a genuinely high-end headphone experience and the advantages of planar-magnetic technology without compromising comfort or everyday usability.
The proprietary TPM 2500 driver, developed and manufactured by T+A in Germany, combines extremely low distortion with outstanding dynamics and exceptionally fast transient response. Its open-back architecture further contributes to a natural, spacious and transparent presentation.
The 4.4 mm Pentaconn balanced connection completes this specific configuration, providing separate left and right signal paths and making the headphone particularly suitable for high-end headphone amplifiers equipped with a balanced output.
With a frequency response extending to 45 kHz, distortion below 0.015%, 45-ohm impedance and a weight of 440 g without cable, the Solitaire P-SE is one of the most sophisticated headphones in T+A's range.
