RUARK R3S

Ruark R3S - Compact Music System with CD, DAB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Ruark R3S is a sophisticated all-in-one compact music system designed to provide a complete listening experience without compromising audio quality. It combines a slot-loading CD player, DAB/DAB+, FM and Internet Radio, Wi-Fi music streaming, Bluetooth, digital and analogue inputs and powerful stereo amplification in a single elegant unit.

The system combines two 75 mm Ruark NS+ full-range drivers with a 30 W Class A/B analogue amplifier, supported by a twin bass-reflex cabinet and digital audio processing with 3D sound modes. The result is a system capable of producing an impressively spacious and engaging sound despite its compact dimensions.

A Complete Music System in One Unit

The R3S is designed for listeners who want to enjoy their music without having to build a Hi-Fi system from multiple separate components.

The integrated CD player allows you to continue enjoying your physical CD collection, while Wi-Fi connectivity provides access to Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music, as well as Internet Radio and podcasts.

The system also features DAB, DAB+ and FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth, an optical input, RCA analogue input, Line/Sub output, headphone output and USB-C connectivity.

Ruark Audio Quality

The amplification section uses a 30 W Class A/B analogue amplifier driving two 75 mm Ruark NS+ full-range drivers.

The two drivers operate inside a cabinet featuring a twin bass-reflex configuration, designed to enhance low-frequency extension and improve bass presence.

The frequency response extends from approximately 40 Hz to 20 kHz, providing a balanced presentation for music, radio, streaming and CD playback.

3D Audio Processing

The R3S incorporates digital signal processing with a 3D Audio mode, designed to expand the perceived soundstage and create a more immersive listening experience.

Separate bass, treble and loudness controls are also available, allowing the sound to be tailored to personal preferences and the listening environment.

Slot-Loading CD Player

The integrated CD player uses a slot-loading mechanism that maintains the clean and minimalist appearance of the front panel.

The R3S supports CD-DA and CD-R discs, as well as discs containing MP3, WMA and AAC files up to 320 kbps.

This makes it possible to enjoy both traditional CDs and home-recorded discs containing digital music files.

Wi-Fi Music Streaming

Wi-Fi connectivity transforms the R3S into a complete network music system.

The unit supports Spotify Connect, Deezer and Amazon Music, together with Internet Radio and podcasts.

Its 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connection supports WPS2 as well as WEP, WPA and WPA2 security protocols.

Bluetooth 5.2

The R3S features Bluetooth 5.2 with support for SBC, BLE and A2DP.

This makes it easy to stream music stored on smartphones, tablets, computers and other compatible devices, providing a convenient way to add wireless sources to the system.

DAB, FM and Internet Radio

The radio section is particularly comprehensive.

The R3S provides DAB, DAB+, FM with RDS and Internet Radio, giving users access to both traditional broadcasts and thousands of stations available online.

Favourite stations can also be stored using the available presets for the different radio modes.

Extensive Inputs and Outputs

Despite its compact format, the R3S provides an extensive selection of connections.

The TOSLINK optical input allows digital sources such as televisions, CD players and other digital components to be connected, supporting PCM signals up to 24-bit/96 kHz.

The stereo RCA input provides connectivity for analogue sources.

A stereo RCA Line Out/Sub Out and a 3.5 mm headphone output are also provided.

External Subwoofer Connection

Thanks to its dedicated RCA subwoofer output, the R3S can be integrated with an external subwoofer.

This makes it possible to extend low-frequency reproduction further and adapt the system to larger rooms or listening preferences that require greater bass extension.

USB-C Connectivity

The USB-C port can be used for MP3 playback from compatible FAT32 USB devices and as a 5 V/1 A charging port.

This provides a convenient way to keep a mobile device powered while using it as a music source.

OLED Display and RotoDial Control

The front panel features a high-contrast OLED display designed for excellent readability, with automatic brightness adjustment.

The main controls are centred around Ruark's distinctive RotoDial positioned on the top panel, providing intuitive access to the system's main functions.

The R3S can also be controlled using the infrared remote control and a dedicated app for iOS and Android devices.

Elegant and Compact Design

As with other Ruark products, the R3S combines technology and design in a component intended to look at home in a living environment.

Available finishes include Rich Walnut, Soft Grey and Charcoal, complemented by fabric-covered front grilles that enhance its elegant and discreet appearance.

With maximum dimensions of 420 x 165 x 235 mm, the R3S can easily be placed on a sideboard, bookshelf, cabinet or shelf.

Smart Everyday Functions

The R3S incorporates numerous features designed for everyday convenience, including dual alarms, sleep timer, snooze, automatic standby and software updates.

Its clock with automatic time management and multiple alarm configurations also make it particularly suitable for use in bedrooms, kitchens and other living spaces.
