Cyrus i9-XR – Prestige Integrated Amplifier

The Cyrus i9-XR is the spearhead of the innovative XR series of the historic English HiFi brand. The acoustic die-cast chassis remains the same in this high-end integrated amplifier, but inside everything has changed. New technology, new circuitry, new elegant finish, touch control keys, a high resolution display. Furthermore, the i9 XR, designed and engineered in the historic Cyrus headquarters, is now being created and assembled 100% in the brand's new and innovative English factories. High production capacity, total control, extensive functional tests: quality has never been so high in the entire history of Cyrus production.

All new analog preamplifier

Derived from the new high-end Pre-XR preamplifier, the Cyrus i9-XR's analog preamplifier features relay input selection and a new high-performance gain stage. The new circuit design, which features an extremely short signal path, makes the analog preamplifier extremely transparent and natural. With four analog inputs and one MM Phono input, the Cyrus i9-XR satisfies virtually any system requirement in terms of analog connectivity.

Power amplifier

The Cyrus i9-XR power amplifier is linear from DC to over 100 kHz, ensuring a flat frequency response while keeping any unwanted phase shift out of the audio band. With a generously oversized power supply, the Cyrus i9-XR power amplifier delivers music with world-class definition and authority thanks to its 91W per channel power rating.

XR digital performance

The digital input stage of the DAC in the Cyrus i9-XR features a new second-generation version of the award-winning QXR DAC, but with an all-new high-speed analog buffer stage. Seven digital filter alignment options are user adjustable to suit listener tastes. Input options include USB (up to 32/384k sample rate) – DSD (DSD512), 2 RCA SPDIF digital inputs and 2 Toslink optical digital inputs.

PSU-XR power port

The Cyrus i9-XR includes a rear panel connection for the brand new Cyrus PSU-XR super power supply. Thirty years ago, the British brand Cyrus broke new ground with the introduction of the PSX-R, the first power supply that automatically adjusted to perfectly match the power requirements of any connected product. The PSU-XR raises the bar by providing no less than five independent power sections in a single chassis. For the Cyrus i9-XR, two sections (out of five total) of PSU-XR power supplies are used for the Preamp section, and a second pair is fed to the power section to increase dynamics and control.

Cyrus i9-XR – fully configurable

A new menu logic makes the i9-XR highly customizable yet easy to configure. With a tree navigation structure, menu settings are quick and easy to select.

Low noise phono stage

Inheriting many features from the award-winning Phono Signature circuitry, the i9-XR's phono stage performs at a far superior level in its class. Featuring a low noise floor and high dynamic range, the phono stage is a perfect complement to high quality turntables/vinyl.

Tip: Filtered AC current

In the HiFi listening chains, the various devices must be consistent with each other to get the best result.

Amplifiers and delicate electronics should always be powered with possibly controlled and filtered electric current. Any noise induced by sudden changes in the home network or in the macro living area is reflected in voltage oscillations - even important and harmful to the device - which in the best case are detrimental to listening pleasure and the absolute performance of our devices .

We strongly recommend the use of shielded power cords and good quality power strips with decent to good quality amplifiers and audio electronics. These improve the life and performance of the connected devices and also of the rest of the appliances in the house since they do not filter disturbances and discharges but, symmetrically, do not emit them. Toroidal electrical insulators for HiFi are also recommended to obtain the maximum in terms of listening and safety.
