Developed over ten years by a team of Rega designers led by our founder Roy Gandy, AYA speakers promise to deliver detailed, balanced performance, no matter what genre of music you decide to play. Using speakers designed and handcrafted by Rega, paired with our ZRR high-frequency tweeter and a new crossover, our engineers have fine-tuned every aspect to deliver the best possible performance. The sculpted cabinets and stands create an attractive floating effect that adds to the unique appearance.

Break the mold

After a decade of testing and development, the Rega AYA speakers are born. Housed in a unique, UK-made cabinet molded from GRC (glass reinforced concrete), the glass fibers that make up the structure reduce weight and increase the structural integrity of this 2.5-way bandpass design. This technique creates a perfect speaker cabinet, which improves performance and offers exceptional value for money. Thanks to the combination of the new cabinet configuration and the driver unit, the AYA speakers offer precise and tight bass response, as well as the detailed mids and highs typical of Rega.

If Rega wanted to deliver on its promise to customers to deliver exceptional performance and value for money, the ever-increasing cost of real wood veneer MDF cabinets left us with no choice but to explore other options. After a decade of testing and development, the AYA speakers are housed in a unique cabinet, manufactured in the UK and molded from glass-reinforced concrete. The glass fibers that make up the structure reduce the weight and increase the structural integrity of this 2.5-way bandpass cabinet.

This technique creates a perfect speaker that improves performance and offers exceptional value for money. The AYA speaker cabinet molding process was developed in collaboration with a British company known for bespoke concrete installations and furniture.

Rega fans will know that we have always questioned the marketing and science surrounding turntables. Experiments and research have allowed us to debunk common beliefs and use real engineering to produce world-class sound quality at reasonable prices.

However, the speaker market is very different, because there is a valid scientific and engineering discipline, which in turn has created hundreds of competitors in the speaker market. The success of many loudspeakers depends on powerful marketing, staggering advertising budgets (of which Rega spends nothing) and financial incentives for retailers. The funds that most speaker companies would spend on marketing, Rega has put towards research and development to achieve an absolutely unique cabinet construction.

*Diffuser grilles are available as an option and are supplied separately. To keep costs as low as possible and avoid unnecessary waste, we have chosen not to include grills as standard, as most customers choose not to use them. These grilles are simply attached with a magnet to the faceplate screws to avoid damaging the cone or tweeter. They are covered in speaker-grade fabric which minimizes the impact of a fitted grille.
