ATC P1 is the power amplifier in Dual Mono configuration of the English brand, capable of 150 W at 8 ohms per channel, ideal for driving the passive speakers of the Entry Series. It boasts high-quality analog inputs: balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA for connection to any preamp.

Description

The 150 W per channel Dual Mono power amplifier of the ATC P1 is the most compact power amplifier in the ATC electronics range, derived from the same amplification modules integrated in the range of active speakers of the English brand.</p >

ATC P1 is the 150 W Dual Mono power amplifier into 8 ohms in class AB which offers an excellent power reserve with great control and authority, capable of driving medium and large speakers and designed in particular for models liabilities of the Entry Series.

The amplifiers incorporate the same gain reduction and speaker protection circuitry used in ATC's active monitors. This ensures that even when operating at very high levels the amplifier is prevented from clipping, thus improving subjective performance and protecting the speakers from damage.

The retro style makes it a piece of great design while the compact dimensions make it easy to place in any domestic space.

The entire design is curated by founder Billy Woodman and is inspired by the look of professional electronics from the '50s and '60s reinterpreted in a more modern key. The cabinet features a solid chassis with a massive 12mm thick finely machined titanium anodized aluminum front panel, and a top panel with vents to help cool the internal components.

The power button is positioned on the rear panel but integrates the Standby functionality to activate the product directly from the IR remote control, supplied inside the package.

ATC P1 has a powerful, clean and very open sound: a power amplifier capable of driving any pair of speakers without affecting transparency, naturalness and musicality Power Made in ATC ATC uses an amplification system derived from the modules integrated in the line of active speakers from the brand and features a true Dual Mono configuration design, meaning it keeps the power, signal and return paths separate. This approach ensures that the amplifier achieves maximum signal separation with minimal crosstalk (i.e. negligible interference between the two channels).

Additionally, intermodulation between channels via power supplies is reduced to an absolute minimum across the entire operating frequency range, and power delivery from one channel does not affect the specified power available from the other channel.

The class A/B output stage is capable of delivering 150 W per channel into 8 ohms, thanks to two generous 300 VA low noise transformers and a pair of MOSFETs per channel. The company's objectives on amplification design are primarily: an extremely wide passband (in the interest of the least possible phase variation within the audio band), very low distortion and noise, and excellent reliability.</ p>

These goals are achieved through the use of ATC's proprietary Grounded Source output section design, the use of MOSFETs as output devices and a parallel FET limiter (parallel circuit), which has no effects on the audio circuit until the threshold voltage is exceeded.

The FET limiter protects the amplifier, speakers and listeners from the effects of overload distortion. 360-degree connectivity The P1 power amp is designed to pair seamlessly with the ATC CD2 player and CDA2 preamps with integrated DAC and CD player, and the CA2 preamp derived directly from the iconic SCA2.

It is also perfectly compatible with the SIA2-100 and SIA2-150 integrates to make bi-amplification connections. As for the inputs, it is possible to connect both a pair of balanced As with professional audio applications, ATC recommends that the P1 be used via its balanced inputs.

When balanced inputs are used for common mode noise reduction, the speaker is perfectly balanced to the ground.

In practice, the further improvement manifests itself in the elimination of low-frequency modulation, thanks to a superior power supply arrangement, in a reduction of the temperature cycle of the output devices and in the cleaning of the ground signal. Like all the brand's electronics and speakers, it is assembled by hand in the Stroud headquarters, guaranteeing extraordinary manufacturing care also thanks to the meticulous tests to which all products are subjected.

There are two pairs of 4 mm connectors for connecting a single pair of speakers via bananas or spades: the terminals are proprietary and of great quality.

For driving we recommend using high quality power cables, such as the Chord Company cables capable of a natural and transparent performance that combines well with the ATC philosophy; the ideal model is EpicX although we already find excellent results with the ShawlineX model.

The ideal pairings are the passive speakers from ATC's Entry Series line, including the reference models SCM19 and SCM40.
