The spearhead of sound

The new version of the Kef Q950 Uni-Q is equipped with the latest generation drivers. The patented Uni-Q tweeter with a 38 mm diameter is able to reproduce the high frequencies in a crystal clear way even at high volumes, without creating a sensation of annoyance or confusion. Uni-Q is now mounted in a separate chamber from the rest of the cabinet, resulting in even more performance and control.

The rear decompression chamber minimizes distortions by moving the first breakup well beyond the audible threshold. This translates into great clarity and linearity in the reproduction of even the highest treble, at any volume. The frontal "Tangerine" waveguide completes the angular dispersion work making the Q950 one of the world's largest aperture speakers. Thanks to this patent it is not necessary to be exactly in the center of the two speakers to visualize a large and realistic soundstage. On the contrary, moving around the room or sitting anywhere on the sofa will feel equally good.

Powerful, controlled and clear bass

The mid-low frequencies in the Kef Q950 are entrusted to the mid-woofer with aluminum cone. Fast, powerful and detailed. Equipped with the Z-flex suspension (patent) this mid-woofer has a great excursion and at the same time does not hinder the angular dispersion. Going down in frequency, the real bass engine of Kef Q950 is the active woofer of 200 mm balanced by the two passive radiators in ABR, also of 200 mm . The three woofers, all in aluminum, mount patented Z-Flex suspension to maximize linearity of angular dispersion.

The 2-and-a-half-way configuration with mechanical Reflex simplifies placement in the room. Even close to corners or walls this large speaker excites with naturalness and realism. The simple and elegant decoupling point system from the floor virtually suspends the Q950 from the ground, minimizing unwanted resonances.
